“Most patients with a spinal condition can be treated without surgery. But surgery becomes necessary in some conditions. The decision to undergo spinal surgery should always be made carefully. My approach to medical and surgical treatment involves thorough patient evaluation, making an accurate diagnosis, informing and educating patients about their spinal condition and treatment options. Most decisions regarding treatment are a shared decision between patient and physician. My goal with every patient is to help achieve the best possible outcome for their problem. My personal experience, having had a lumbar fusion myself for a painful spinal disorder, has given me perspective as both patient and surgeon.”
